How fast are plan reviews for general contractors?
Most single-family residential plan reviews come back in hours. Multifamily and commercial plan reviews take 1–2 days. Revision reviews are prioritized to help keep the job moving.
Can FCC help with revision reviews after comments come back?
Yes. FCC can review correction sets, updated sheets, and re-submittals as part of the private-provider review workflow. That helps general contractors avoid losing more time every time the permit set changes.
How do virtual inspections work for GC teams?
Live inspections are requested through the myFCC app and results are delivered during the call. Eligible offline inspections can be submitted with GPS-tagged, timestamped media and usually return results within minutes. Some inspection types still require live review.
Does FCC pull permits or file the NTBO for general contractors?
No. FCC does not pull permits, file permit applications, or file the NTBO. Your contractor, permit coordinator, office admin, or permit expediter still handles filing with the jurisdiction.
Does FCC replace the building department entirely?
No. FCC handles the private-provider plan review and inspection scope. Jurisdiction-retained items like zoning, fire, utilities, public works, drainage, and other local requirements still stay with the jurisdiction.
