Key Takeaways

  • myFCC is FCC's platform for plan review and virtual inspections in Florida, on iPhone, Android and the web.
  • Oct 1–5, 2026 (7-day average): live inspector in 5 min 8 sec, offline result in 13 min, plan review 1.1 hours of workable business time.
  • No scheduling: request a live inspection when the work is ready and get the result before the call ends.
  • FCC sends inspection results to the building department and files the Certificate of Compliance.
  • FCC doesn't pull permits; zoning, fire and public works inspections stay with the jurisdiction.

What is the best way for Florida contractors to get plan reviews and virtual inspections done without waiting on the building department schedule?

Use a private provider that runs plan review and virtual inspections on one platform. With myFCC, contractors submit plans, request live or offline inspections from their phone, and track every project in one place. Last week a licensed inspector joined a live call about 5 minutes after the request.

If you've ever held a crew on site waiting for an inspection window, you already know what slow costs you. myFCC is our answer: one app where you submit plans, get stamped plans back, request inspections and track every project, from your phone or your desk.

It's live now on iPhone, Android and the web. Here's what it does, how fast it is, and how it's different from inspection software you'd have to run yourself.

The short answer

myFCC is the platform Freedom Code Compliance uses to deliver private provider plan reviews and virtual inspections under Florida Statute 553.791. You don't buy it, install it on a server, or train your team to run inspections in it. A licensed FCC examiner or inspector is on the other end of every request.

Our numbers, measured on the platform

We publish how fast we actually are, not a promise. These are 7-day averages measured on myFCC, Oct 1–5, 2026:

  • Request to live inspector: 5 min 8 sec. From the moment you tap request to a licensed inspector joining your video call.
  • Offline request to result: 13 min. From submitting photos and video to having the result.
  • Plan review, start to approved plans: 1.1 hours of workable business time. Workable time is the time our team can act on your plans during business hours. Time waiting on you, like corrections or a quote out for approval, isn't counted.

The figures update every 15 minutes on our homepage, so check there for this week's numbers.

What you can do in myFCC

Submit plans and get stamped plans back

Upload your plan set, and it goes straight into plan review. When it's approved, your stamped plans and private provider paperwork come back in the app. If something needs a fix, you get clear comments to resubmit against, and the revision review runs in the same place. Request a live virtual inspection

When the work is ready, request the inspection. No scheduling, no window. The app routes you to a licensed inspector by video call, and you have your result before the call ends. Live requests are taken Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm ET. More on on-demand inspections, and what it looks like for a trade in Florida plumbing inspections.

Submit an offline inspection any time

For inspections that don't need a live call, send photos and video through the app whenever it suits your crew, including GPS-tagged, timestamped media you already captured. myFCC tells you which method each inspection needs, since some inspection and project types require a live call. Commercial jobs work the same way: commercial virtual inspections.

Results go to the building department for you

After each passed inspection, FCC sends the result to the building department. When the required FCC inspections are done, we file the Certificate of Compliance.

Every project in one place

Status, documents, inspections, invoices and support tickets live on the project. Your office and your field team see the same thing, so nobody is digging through email to find out where a job stands. See the myFCC platform.

Virtual inspection software vs. a virtual inspection platform

If you're searching for virtual inspection software or plan review software, it helps to know what you're actually comparing.

Most inspection software is a tool. Someone still has to be licensed, do the review, run the inspection, and deal with the building department. That someone is usually you or the jurisdiction.

myFCC is a platform with the service built in. Here's what to check when you compare options:

  1. Who does the work? With myFCC, licensed FCC plan examiners and inspectors review your plans and perform your inspections.
  2. How fast is it, measured? Look for published figures, not "fast turnaround." Ours are above and on our homepage.
  3. Do you have to schedule? With myFCC you request when the work is ready. No window.
  4. Does it handle the building department hand-off? FCC sends inspection results and files the Certificate of Compliance.
  5. Does it work from the job site? myFCC runs on the phone your super already carries: App Store or Google Play.
  6. Can you reach a person? Real people answer the phone at (772) 222-6679, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 ET. Contact us.

Are virtual inspections allowed in Florida?

Yes. Florida Statute 553.791(9) says a private provider inspection, "including a single-trade inspection, may be performed in person or virtually." As of July 1, 2026, under HB 803, section 553.791(19)(c) adds that a local enforcement agency "may not prohibit or limit private providers from using virtual inspections if a virtual inspection is not prohibited by any applicable code."

What myFCC doesn't do

So there are no surprises:

  • FCC doesn't pull permits or file permit applications. You or the property owner handle the permit submission and the Notice to Building Official.
  • FCC performs building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing plan reviews and inspections. Zoning, fire, public works and other retained inspections stay with the jurisdiction, and they can hold up a Certificate of Compliance if they're open.
  • We take new projects only where we're registered. Check your building department on our service area map.
